Drafting O linemen is never
very "sexy," but when you're
John Gruden and the Tampa
Bay Bucs, it's essential,
especially considering the
struggles endured by the '05
line. Davin Joseph (OG)
and Jeremy Trueblood
(OT) are both exceptional
talents. Joseph should start
immediately at OG.
Trueblood's slower, sloppier
footwork might mean he'll
have to move inside, but
he's still a mauler.
Maurice Stovall finally
lived up to expectations
during his Senior season at
Notre Dame, thanks in large
part to the Charlie Weis
offense. Gruden is hoping
that same success carries
over into Stovall's new role
in Tampa. With a shaky Chris
Simms at the helm, somewhat
surprising that Tampa didn't
go for QB help earlier than
#194 when they landed
Bruce Gradkowski. Simms
will need competition, and
the Bucs could have drafted
someone better in round
three or four. Alan
Zemaitis, drafted at
#122, has good size but
lacks the speed and agility
of an NFL Corner, so his
presence will be strictly to
provide depth unless he's
moved to Free Safety. |
