The Bengals
identified their positional needs
correctly, but they didn't do their
homework very well as the talent/value
could've been better. CB Jonathan
Joseph has speed and talent, but with
only one season of starting experience
under his belt and questionable
intelligence, he's as raw as they come.
Cincy could've landed a better CB. Same
goes for the manner in which the addressed
their need for depth at DE and DT.
Frostee Rucker and Domata Peko
were both major stretches and more
talented players were there for the
taking. OT Andrew Whitworth is
going to be a solid starter in the NFL.
All he did was star for four seasons on
some great LSU teams and take home All-SEC
accolades each season. Whitworth was
Cincy's best value pick. QB Reggie
McNeal was a smart choice as the
Bengals lack talent/depth behind Palmer.
McNeal is a gifted athlete with decent arm
strength but better known for his running
ability. If he doesn't pan out at QB,
expect a move to WR. |
